Job Description for HVAC Professionals

Air conditioning and heating technicians are skilled professionals who install, maintain, and repair complex heating and cooling systems in buildings. They work with a variety of equipment, including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and ductwork.

The job requires strong problem-solving skills, as technicians must diagnose and troubleshoot issues with intricate systems. They also need to be physically fit, as they may spend much of their time working at heights or in cramped spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install new heating and cooling systems, including air conditioners, furnaces, and heat pumps.
  • Maintain and repair existing systems, including performing routine checks and troubleshooting problems.

  • Work with clients to identify and address any concerns or issues with their systems.

Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as HVAC technology.
  • Licenses and certifications, such as R-410A certification.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and climbing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
