The Strategic Communications Specialist will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering communication strategies that enhance our reputation, strengthen community engagement, and support organisational priorities.
This is an exciting opportunity to drive integrated communication and engagement strategies, providing informed strategic advice and practical support to strengthen our communications and community profile.
The successful candidate will have strong expertise in strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, and media relations, with proven ability to deliver impactful messaging across digital and traditional platforms.
They will also be able to manage communication challenges in high-pressure situations, and work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving integrated communication and engagement strategies
- Providing informed strategic advice and practical support to strengthen our communications and community profile
- Enhancing visibility through targeted media campaigns and proactive media engagement
- Monitoring digital performance and adapting strategies to meet community expectations
- Supporting community events, key initiatives, and crisis communication when required
About You:
We're looking for a highly motivated communications professional with tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, or related field (or significant experience).
Local Government experience is desirable but not essential. The ideal candidate will have a collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
