Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced communications professional to shape and deliver the Council's strategic communications, supporting the development and implementation of campaigns and initiatives that align with organisational priorities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Developing and executing integrated communication and engagement strategies.
  • Providing informed strategic advice and practical support to strengthen our communications and community profile.
  • Fostering visibility through targeted media campaigns and proactive media engagement.
  • Maintaining digital performance and adapting strategies to meet community expectations.
  • Supporting community events, key initiatives, and crisis communication as required.
About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, or a related field (or significant experience).
  • Strong expertise in strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, and media relations.
  • A proven ability to deliver impactful messaging across digital and traditional platforms.
  • The capacity to manage communication challenges in high-pressure situations.

Relevant local government experience is desirable but not essential.
