Employee Relations Specialist

Key Responsibilities- Interpret and administer the Project Enterprise Agreement and enforce work rules, staying up-to-date with employment laws and related legislation.
- Collaborate with the jobsite Safety representative to implement Environmental, Safety, and Health programs for craft personnel.
- Work with subcontractor representatives to ensure employment contracts are interpreted correctly and work rules are enforced uniformly.
- Analyze labour problems and implement corrective actions to prevent work stoppages and construction schedule delays, and implement craft process improvement programs at the jobsite level.
- Conduct and/or provide guidance in conducting informal and formal grievance hearings in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Interface with the craft workforce, construction leadership, client, and general public.
- Perform other tasks as designated.
- Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
- Good analytical and strategic planning skills, able to prioritize, pivot, and respond to conflicting priorities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office software.
- Previous employment relationships, employee or industrial relations, construction trades, leadership skills.
- HSE legislative knowledge will also be highly regarded.
- Experience and demonstrated success in human resources, industrial or employee relations, Workforce Services type roles on a construction site.
- Training experience within an industrial environment is preferred.
This position involves responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms, and use of personal fall arrest equipment. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task.
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility, and this is a non-smoking site. No tobacco products are permitted to be brought to the site.
This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
