Job Description

The Middle Office team plays a pivotal role in the Asset & Fund Services division, supporting various asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Cash, Listed Derivatives, and OTC. The team's primary objective is to ensure high-quality services are delivered to clients through the execution of daily tasks, completion of SLA/KPIs, management of queries, client change, and service enhancements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Executing daily BAU tasks
  • Managing queries and executing client change
  • Continually evolving service enhancements
  • Timely resolution of issues and derivative trade reporting (DTR) regulatory monitoring

OTC Functions

Supporting key OTC functions such as Trade & Life-Cycle Event Processing, Cashflow Management, Third Party Custodian Trade Instruction, Valuations, Regulation Reporting, and Reconciliations.

Operational Execution

Responsible for:

  • OTC Trade Matching Support, including dispute resolution
  • OTC Cash Management (Diarize, Cash Settlement, Cash Pooling Service (CPS) and related reconciliation break clearance)
  • OTC Trade Notification to external Custodians
  • Complete key client reconciliations
  • Monitor and investigate DTR reporting queries
  • Onboarding new portfolios to Calypso service
  • New account setups for clients trading OTC's
  • Support and implement client change, new services, and operational efficiency initiatives as required.
  • Generate ideas for process improvement to systems and processes.

Client Service

Building strong collaborative relationships with internal partners, clients, brokers, and other external third parties.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing client-related issues in client action logs
  • Escalating client issues appropriately for resolution
  • Delivering client reporting (for example STP and KPI reporting) as required

Oversight of Outsourced Functions

Participating or leading daily check-in calls on escalations and current issues.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing operating incidents with managers and tracking to closure
  • Reviewing aged and high-value reconciliation breaks to ensure adequate actions and commentary
  • Participating in periodic service review meetings, covering KPIs, issue logs, change pipeline, resourcing, attrition, MIS
  • Periodic reviews of SLAs, procedures, and BCP plans

Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

  • Degree education in commerce and finance (preferable)

Technical Skills

Knowledge of:

  • OTC, fixed income, equities, foreign exchange, and cash markets and associated asset classes
  • Markit, IceLink, Omgeo CTM matching platforms
  • Generic broker dealer, investment manager, and custodian payments processing and systems
  • Derivative products within Asia Pacific and Global markets experience ideal
  • Swift, the various Swift messages, and their purpose

Systems Knowledge

Familiarity with:

  • Calypso
  • CLS
  • GTSS
  • Swift
  • Hi-Portfolio (preferable)
  • MS Word and Excel (intermediary/expert)
  • Tradeflow
