At our organization, we have a dynamic role for the position of Community Engagement Volunteer. This role will play a pivotal part in assisting our team to deliver high-quality activities and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This volunteer opportunity supports our team in delivering engaging programs and services for people seeking asylum.
  • As a community engagement volunteer, you will assist us in facilitating connections within the community through collaborative efforts with other staff and volunteers.

Requirements and Expectations:

  • Successful applicants will be required to demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to create a welcoming environment.
  • Experience in or training for working collaboratively as part of a team is advantageous.

Skills We Are Seeking:

  • We are looking for volunteers who possess skills such as Yoga, Skin care, Parenting - for any age, Nutrition, Art skills, Self-care, Music group / lessons, Gardening (once a month at a local garden).
  • Volunteers should also be willing to propose additional skills they may want to share with the community.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.

Working Arrangements:

  • Some tasks can be performed remotely, making this role ideal for those with busy schedules or limited mobility.

Location:

The Asylum Seekers Centre and Auburn Centre for Community will be primary locations for this role.

Regular attendance and punctuality are expected; however, please note that some flexibility regarding working hours will be considered.
