Franchise Law Specialist

Our client is a renowned retail business with a significant presence in Victoria and New South Wales. As they continue to expand their national and international footprint, they are seeking an experienced Franchise Law Specialist to join their team.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will provide expert legal support to the company's franchise operations, focusing on franchising and leasing matters. This will include drafting, negotiating, and reviewing agreements, as well as providing strategic advice to drive business growth.
- Provide comprehensive legal guidance on all aspects of franchising, including agreements, renewals, terminations, and compliance with franchise laws.
- Draft, review, and negotiate leasing agreements for properties across the network.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments to provide timely legal support.
- Manage a dynamic workload, which may involve high-volume and project-oriented tasks.
- A qualified lawyer, able to practice without restrictions in Victoria.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in franchising, with demonstrable expertise in franchise agreements and commercial property leasing.
- Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective liaison with colleagues, franchise partners, and external counsel.
- Comfortable working independently, with confidence to manage franchise and leasing work from end-to-end.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain accurate records. A willingness to engage directly with wider teams and C-Suite, becoming a visible and engaging legal partner, is essential.
