Job Responsibilities

The In-House Legal Counsel will provide operational legal support and strategic advice to the group. This includes managing franchising and leasing matters, drafting and negotiating agreements, and liaising with internal stakeholders.

  • Provide legal advice on franchising, including agreements, renewals, terminations, and compliance with franchise laws.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate leasing agreements for properties across the network.
  • Work closely with internal departments to provide timely legal guidance.
  • Manage a dynamic workload, including high-volume and project-oriented tasks.
Requirements
  • Qualified lawyer, able to practice without restrictions in Victoria.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Franchising, with demonstrable experience in franchise agreements and commercial property leasing.
  • First-class communication skills, with the ability to liaise directly with colleagues, franchise partners, and external counsel.
  • Willingness to work 2-3 days in the office, engaging directly with wider teams and C-Suite.

The client is open to candidates with in-house or practice experience. What is crucial is confidence in managing franchise and leasing work independently.
