
Radiation Oncology Physicist

About the Role:
Our medical physics registrar will undertake training towards registration as a radiation oncology medical physics specialist. They will participate in clinical activities of the physics department under supervision from a clinical supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake required training in radiotherapy to achieve ACPSEM certification
- Undertake required training in Brachytherapy via periodic placement in the designated hospital
- Carry out research and development in medical physics, particularly as it applies to radiotherapy and in line with practice strategic direction
- Provide clinical physics support for the development, planning and delivery of both existing and future forms of radiotherapy treatment
- Rotate between different departments across the practice as needed for training
Requirements:
- Concurrent enrolment in a Masters or PhD degree in Medical Physics accredited by the ACPSEM, or previous completion of such a degree under approval from the ACPSEM
- Commitment to the philosophy of compassionate, competent and efficient patient care
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency
- Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to be proactive, anticipate needs and action accordingly
- Attention to detail and pride in delivering consistently accurate and high-quality work
- Desire to innovate and improve healthcare
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
