Procurement Specialist

Vulcan is a leading metals distributor and processor in Australasia, with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team in Smithfield.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for stainless steel materials, ensuring the availability of materials to meet sales projections while minimizing excess inventory. They will also be a key stakeholder in analyzing and influencing re-order quantities, identifying and evaluating international suppliers, and negotiating pricing and contracts.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with a strong knowledge of supply chain management and sourcing practices. They will possess excellent negotiation, influencing, and analytical skills, as well as effective communication and interpersonal skills.
As a Procurement Specialist at Vulcan, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our Branch Unit Leaders, Finance, Shipping Team, Warehouse Teams, and Freight Forwarders to align business plans with operational needs. You will also prepare regular reports on procurement metrics, supplier performance, cost savings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
