Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join our Technical Services department at the Gruyere Gold Mine.

This is a key role that requires a high level of expertise in mine planning and operational management. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and scheduling all aspects of the operation, as well as being the key conduit between the long-term and short-term planning functions.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in open pit engineering, including planning and operational management. They will also have a strong understanding of mining and environmental approvals, as well as proficiency in mining software such as Alastri, Deswik, and Microsoft Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and schedule all aspects of the operation
  • Be the key conduit between the long-term and short-term planning functions
  • Undertake open pit mine designs, including waste dumps and other surface infrastructure
  • Regularly review and update general mine planning assumptions
  • Advance capital projects, including surface and pit infrastructure, to FEED/Execution
  • Coordinate with LTP during strategic planning process
  • Review of mine projects (Scoping/Pre Feasibility/Feasibility Study)
  • Operational readiness support as required
  • Build and maintain cost models, including using XERAS
  • Delivering presentations and reporting to broad stakeholder groups
  • Mining contractor tender analysis (inc. equipment assumptions/review)
