Director of String Programmes

This role spearheads the growth and development of our string programme.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the entire string programme, including instrumental music and ensembles.
  • Promote the string programme within the school to foster interest and participation.
  • Develop and oversee the string curriculum and repertoire.
  • Manage ensemble staffing, including conducting and tutoring.
  • Recruit and allocate ensemble members ensuring a balanced composition.
  • Teach private students from beginner to advanced levels, including VCE and Diploma students.
  • Plan and conduct rehearsals and performances for ensembles of various ages and skill levels.
  • Coordinate all string-related events, meetings, and concerts throughout the year.
  • Organise agendas, chair meetings involving all string staff, and minute these sessions accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with string students, staff, and parents on a regular basis.
  • Oversee the management of string instruments, coordinate repairs, and maintain inventory records.
  • Produce comprehensive reports on string programme activities at scheduled intervals.
