Job Title: Community Chaplain

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of community members.

The successful candidate will have a passion for pastoral care, information and support, and be committed to empowering individuals to explore their future goals and deepen their spiritual and emotional wellbeing.

  • Provide pastoral care, information and support to community members, promoting an understanding of diversity and the range of cultures and their related traditions.
  • Work collaboratively with various teams, local churches, community organisations and community members to create a community of cooperation and mutual respect.
  • Contribute to meetings and planning sessions conducted by the CCP Team Leader and Mission Australia staff as required.
  • Participate in local church and community events, activities and celebrations and contribute to church communications.
  • Develop relationships across Christian and faith communities in partnership with the Senior Chaplain.
Key Responsibilities:

This role requires a high level of communication skills - verbal, listening, written and digital. The ability to develop stakeholder's relationships that assist to achieve program outcomes is also essential.

A degree or diploma in chaplaincy/CPE/ministry or five years' experience in a similar role in a Christian Church or Community Sector is required. Ongoing commitment to personal spiritual growth and active membership of a local Christian church is also necessary.

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-reflective individual who can facilitate community self-determination in partnership with local churches. Experience in community consultation, facilitation and partnership development is desirable.
