Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair, with experience working on a variety of military vehicles. They will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance tasks, including technical inspections and classifications.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily checks on vehicles to ensure they are in good working order
  • Conduct technical inspections and classifications of vehicles as required
  • Repair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions, and differentials
  • Reassemble, test, clean, and adjust repaired or replaced parts
  • Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs
  • Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, ignition, and electronic fuel injection
  • Inspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent level
  • Open to Light Vehicle Mechanics with demonstrated Heavy vehicle experience
  • Demonstrated experience to inspect, repair, and maintain Light, Medium, and Heavy vehicles
  • Must possess a current Australian State or Territory class C Driver's License
  • You must be an Australian Citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance
