Public Health Physician Position Overview

The Public Health Unit is seeking an experienced Public Health Physician to join their team as a key member of the unit, located in Liverpool NSW.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide medical expertise and clinical advice to support health protection activities.
  • Collaborate with the Public Health Unit staff specialists and team to provide evidence-based advice and support for public health initiatives.
  • Lead the implementation of these activities, including identifying and investigating significant public health risks and coordinating responses.
Requirements:
  • Current medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia, and Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (AFPHM).
  • Demonstrated understanding of public health medicine principles and ability to practice to a high standard with evidence-based practice.
  • Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
  • Experience in teaching/training at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team.
