Dry Receiving Supervisor

As a Dry Receiving Supervisor at Costco Wholesale, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse. You will be responsible for supervising and directing inbound and outbound depot traffic, instructing truck drivers, and assisting with queries. Additionally, you will schedule and supervise daily activities of reporting employees, coordinate employee breaks and lunches, and monitor productivity, safety, and the flow of trucks and goods in and out of the depot.
Key Responsibilities:

- Schedule and supervise daily activities of reporting employees, coordinate employee breaks and lunches.
- Monitor productivity, safety, and the flow of trucks and goods in and out of the depot.
- Provide training, encouragement, advice, and feedback to reporting employees.
- Communicate with Buyers and Vendors from time to time.
- Set and release dock restraints and dock plates, open, close, lock, and unlock roll-up bay doors and trailer doors.
- Verify discrepancies between goods ordered and received, keep records, check temperature, and seal outbound loads.
- Check facility safety, security, cleanliness, and battery recharging.
- Assist in other departments of the Depot as necessary.
Requirements:
- Must have warehouse experience and be physically fit.
- Must be able to work in split shifts, rotating roster, and Saturdays.
- Must be versatile and keen to work in both DRY and WET and in different departments as per business needs.
- Ability to operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery, including forklift, EPJ, computer, printer, phone, calculator, and handheld two-way radio.
Qualifications:
- Education/Training: Higher School Certificate preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: Must have Forklift Licence.
- Knowledge/Skills: Intermediate MS Word and Excel skills, knowledge of WH&S in everyday occupational situations.
- Other Skills and Abilities: Previous experience in supervisory role, ability to multi-task.
Additional Requirements:
The successful candidate will be subject to a criminal record check as the facility is a biosecurity facility. The successful candidate will also be subject to drug and alcohol screening.
