We are seeking a compassionate volunteer to engage with an elderly lady on a regular basis, providing companionship and social interaction. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys chatting and making a positive impact in their community.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for visiting the client on a weekly or fortnightly basis, engaging in conversation, sharing stories, and enjoying activities together. A friendly and non-judgmental approach is essential, as well as a willingness to adapt to the client's needs and preferences.

This role is ideal for someone who values building relationships and making a meaningful difference in someone's life. The experience gained from this role will not only benefit the client but also provide the volunteer with personal growth and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visit the client on a regular basis (weekly or fortnightly)
  • Engage in conversation and share stories
  • Enjoy activities together (e.g., playing games, watching movies)
  • Be flexible and adapt to the client's needs and preferences
Requirements
  • Aged 18 years or older
  • National Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
  • Working with Vulnerable people check

We would be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one-hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday.

Promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.
