The Operational Excellence Lead is a key position within the Internal Audit & Operational Excellence function at Latitude Financial Services. This role reports directly to the Group General Manager Internal Audit & Operational Excellence, who oversees the function's strategic direction and implementation.
The Operational Excellence Lead is responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement across the Enterprise, focusing on process optimization and efficiency gains. This involves proactively reviewing existing processes, workflows, and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and developing actionable recommendations aligned with best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Execute Operational Excellence Strategy: Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for process redesign, quality improvement, and best practice utilization.
- Process Assessment and Improvement: Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing processes, workflows, and systems to identify inefficiencies, pain points, and bottlenecks.
- Recommendations and Implementation: Develop pragmatic and actionable recommendations to address opportunities identified, and oversee the timely and effective implementation of these recommendations by the relevant Business Unit.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicate recommendations and expected benefits to Middle and Senior Management for their consideration in prioritization for implementation.
- Metrics and Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor metrics to measure the effectiveness of recommendations implemented by the relevant Business Unit.
- Operational Excellence Advisory Support: Provide Business Units with operational excellence advisory support on any material new or changes to processes, workflows, and systems.
- Reporting and Analysis: Assist with the preparation of Management and Board reports, and help enhance Operational Excellence capability across the Enterprise through developing and implementing process improvement tools, methodologies, and training.
- Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in process improvement, operational management, or a related field.
- Financial Services Experience: Extensive financial services experience, preferably in retail banking or consumer lending.
- Process Improvement Methodologies: Expertise in process improvement methodologies and change implementation.
- Data Analysis and Performance Metrics: Proficient in data analysis and performance metrics.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal, collaboration, and engagement skills, clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Organisation and Prioritisation Skills: Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, strong attention to detail, including thoroughness in reviewing data, processes, and documentation.
- Proactive and Inquisitive Mindset: Proactive and inquisitive mindset, with a willingness to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement.
