Orthopaedic Surgeon Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team. The successful applicant will contribute to and assist in leading the SMHS's Orthopaedic Departments.

The ideal candidate will have a special interest in one or more of the following sub-specialties:

  • Foot and Ankle
  • Primary & Revision Hip & Knee Arthroplasty
  • Hand & Upper Limb
  • Brachial Plexus
  • Paediatrics
  • Sports Surgery

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality acute orthopaedic surgery services to patients
  • Promoting personalised, safe, and timely care
  • Leading and promoting an organisational culture that values commitment, accountability, respect, and excellence
  • Educating and supervising junior medical staff and other healthcare workers
  • Working with heads of specialty and other consultants to manage unplanned and planned patient demand
  • Achieving national performance outcomes and meeting the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards

The successful applicant will also be required to undertake clinical shifts as directed, including participation on the on-call, after-hours, and weekend roster.
