Spiritual Care Professional

Juniper is a Western Australian aged care provider that champions individualised care, keeping customers connected to people, passions, and places they love.

This permanent part-time role involves providing pastoral and spiritual support and coordinating provision for residents, clients, staff, and volunteers. As a Spiritual Care Professional, you will need to be flexible and empathetic, communicating effectively in all situations.

You will work 15 hours a week, with hours worked on Wednesdays and another flexible weekday during normal business hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pastoral Support: Provide compassionate care in response to identified needs and referrals.
  • Spiritual Assessments: Promote holistic, person-centred care by assessing and evaluating residents' spiritual needs.
  • Support Coordination: Coordinate responses to needs through the direct provision of support or by arranging services.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with staff and volunteers involved in care, providing support to family members.
  • Community Engagement: Prepare weekly church services embracing multi-faith perspectives.
  • Memorial Services: Prepare memorial services as required.
  • Resource Development: Develop local resources for end-of-life scenarios.
  • Liaison: Liaise with organisations to arrange services.
Requirements:
  • Clinical Pastoral Education: Completion of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent.
  • Pastoral Experience: Experience in pastoral care, preferably in an aged care setting.
  • Cultural Competence: Able to exercise impartial pastoral ministry, aware of core tenets of main Christian denominations and major world religions.
  • Dementia Care: Experience working with those with Dementia.
  • Pastoral Training: Pastoral or theological training or qualifications.
  • Professional Reference: A Pastoral reference.
