Mechanical Engineer Role:

  • Develop mechanical assets across the operation through design, modification and optimisation.
  • Deliver practical engineering solutions to ensure safe and reliable equipment performance.
  • Support maintenance execution and resolve operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Design & Installation – Develop and review mechanical components and systems for optimal performance.
  • Maintenance & Reliability – Perform inspections, repairs and provide technical support to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
  • Project Management – Manage mechanical engineering projects end-to-end, coordinating stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Safety & Compliance – Ensure compliance with engineering standards, conduct risk assessments and embed safety-in-design principles.
  • Analysis & Optimisation – Carry out stress, fatigue and thermal analysis to drive performance and efficiency improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical engineering within mining or heavy industry.
  • Proven experience in design, analysis and optimisation of mechanical systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Proficient in engineering software and tools.
  • Collaborative communicator with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
