Export Sales Engineer

Job Summary
The Export Sales Engineer will be responsible for driving sales for the full product portfolio for the Capacitors and Filters Product Group in global markets outside of Australia and New Zealand. This role will work closely with World Class Front End Sales Organisation, Sector Leads, and BU Sales Organisation to execute sales strategy and achieve budget sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tenders and support the local sales organisation/customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions and in the preparation of offers.
- Provide technical support during the technical meeting, product presentations, and negotiations, and offer product/solution/service-related training.
- Prepare and support the preparation of comprehensive quality technical/commercial offers based on customer specification requirements, Local Business Unit/feeder factory indications, and Sales organisation directives.
- Ensure the preparation of technical and financial aspects of the offer and costing models, indicating prices and trading conditions, and define items to be included in proposals.
- Support the development and maintenance of a detailed understanding of the transformers business strategy and market positioning, prepare various analyses related to market segment, product, and competitors.
- Analyse customer needs and competitor offers through general market information and information provided by the sales organisation, perform Win/lost proposal analysis, identify potential causes, and recommend future actions in cooperation with Sales/Local Business Unit to obtain better future results.
- Participate in negotiations with customers on technical, contractual, and commercial content of the proposal, provide information to the risk review process in accordance with Hitachi Energy policy, and participate in the risk review assessment as needed.
- Drive and hold oneself accountable for the highest standards of health, safety, and environment to ensure Zero Harm is achieved, attend required health, safety, and environment training, and report injuries, incidents, hazards, and near-miss events.

Requirements
- Degree qualifications in Engineering (electrical) or recognised equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sales or Tendering Engineer.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.
- A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the electrical engineering industry.
- Estimating and tendering experience (MS Excel-based system).
- Sales tools literacy and competent in using SFDC (preferable), MS Word, MS Excel.
- Good communication skills and assertive business acumen.
- Able to collaborate within the broader business.
- Strong technical knowledge of MV Power Quality.
- Exceptional communication skills along with interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Critical consulting skills in bid-no bid issues.
- Basic risk review experience.
- Time management, co-ordination, accuracy, attention to detail, and performing in a pressure environment are necessary.
