Overview

This position is located on the Brisbane City fringe, with convenient access to on-site staff parking. Our accounting practice comprises two Directors and an experienced team of 18 professionals.

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant or a Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The successful applicant will be a motivated self-starter who is able to work in a collaborative environment and is willing to learn all aspects of our accountancy practice.

Role and Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will have excellent numeracy skills and high attention to detail, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. They will also have a good understanding of general accounting principles and be proficient in using Xero and FYI software.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Tax Returns for Individuals, Trusts, Companies, Partnerships & SMSF.
  • Preparation of Financial Statements, BAS/IAS/PAYG for the above.
  • Building relationships with clients through exceptional communication and organisational skills.
  • Research (general taxation issues).
  • Various business advisory projects under the supervision of our Managers and Directors.

Requirements:

  • An Accounting Degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in an Australian Accounting Public Practice.
  • Completed or are in the process of completing CA or CPA program.
  • Great numeracy skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A good understanding of general accounting principles.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Pro-active and hard-working mentality.
  • Experience with accounting software (XPM, Xero, MYOB, FYI Docs and BGL Simple Fund) is advantageous.
