Financial Accountant Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join our finance team. You will assist with key financial processes, support senior accountants with reconciliations and reporting, and contribute to system and control improvements across the team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, be willing to learn and take direction from senior accountants, and possess excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including journal preparation and reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and variance analysis.
  • Maintain financial records and ensure accuracy of the general ledger.
  • Assist with external audits and investor reporting cycles.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in finance systems and processes.
  • Provide day-to-day support to the wider finance team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Progress towards or completion of CA or CPA qualification.
  • Foundational understanding of Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Experience (or strong internship exposure) in month-end close, reconciliations, or financial reporting.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior accountants.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
