Agronomy Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Agronomy Specialist to join our citrus category team.

About the Position

This permanent position is based in Emerald, Queensland. You will play a key role in supporting and implementing agronomy programs and innovation projects, resulting in improvements in yield, fruit quality, and sustainability of our farming operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with crop planning, pest management, irrigation, and soil management to optimise fruit production.
  • Develop and execute field trials to test new crop varieties, fertilisers, pesticides, and techniques.
  • Monitor crop health, diagnose issues, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Analyse data on crop performance and yield to inform decision-making.
  • Evaluate product quality, understand defects, and their effects on quality scores.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise harvest activities to ensure timely and efficient fruit collection.
  • Develop and implement post-harvest techniques to reduce spoilage and maintain freshness.
  • Conduct inspections for hygiene, contamination, pesticide residues, and microbial quality to ensure compliance with national and international standards.
