Job Description

As a graduate agronomist, you will play a vital role in supporting and implementing agronomy programs and innovation projects. This includes improving yield, fruit quality, and sustainability of farming operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with crop planning, pest and disease management, irrigation and soil management.
  • Set up field trials to test new crop varieties, fertilisers, pesticides, and techniques.
  • Monitor crop health and diagnose issues (pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies)
  • Collect and analyse data on crop performance and yield
  • Product Quality; understanding of product defects and the effects on quality scores
  • Harvest planning, coordinating and supervising
  • Develop and monitor post-harvest techniques to reduce spoilage and maintain freshness
  • Conduct inspections for hygiene, contamination, pesticide residues, and microbial quality
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must:

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in Agricultural Science, Horticulture, Agribusiness, Ecology, or related fields.
  • Have a valid driver's licence and own reliable transport with relevant insurances.
  • Be willing to travel and work in different sites from time to time.
  • Meet the requirements for full working rights in Australia.
