Leadership Position in Built Environment

This is a part-time leadership position that requires a high level of expertise and experience in the built environment sector. As a Discipline Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality education programs to a diverse cohort of students.

Main Responsibilities
  • You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the diploma program, ensuring smooth teaching, learning, and student engagement.
  • Coordinate and supervise the teaching team, including casual and ongoing academic staff.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives and innovations within the discipline under the direction of the Program Manager.
Strategic Initiatives and Innovation
  • You will drive new initiatives and projects within the discipline as directed by the Program Manager, aligning with the institution's strategic goals.
  • Implement innovative teaching and learning practices, incorporating emerging educational technologies, industry trends, and student-centered approaches.
Student Support and Academic Performance
  • You will provide academic support and guidance to students, ensuring timely intervention strategies for at-risk students.
  • Monitor student progress and engagement, implementing support mechanisms where necessary.
Assessment, Moderation, and Quality Assurance
  • You will coordinate and oversee unit-level assessments, ensuring compliance with moderation, validation, and benchmarking processes.
  • Ensure all assessments are appropriately documented, stored, and reviewed for continuous quality improvements.
Key Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications AQF level 9 in a relevant discipline area.
  • Five years teaching experience within a higher educational environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of innovative approaches to learning and teaching.
