Job Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned patent attorney to join our team in Melbourne.

As a key member of our group, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients to protect cutting-edge technologies.

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in Australia and internationally.
  • Prepare high-quality written and verbal IP advice in a timely manner.
  • Manage intellectual property portfolios for local and international clients.
  • Develop and execute IP strategies tailored to client needs.
  • Prepare and deliver IP-related articles and presentations internally and externally.
  • Participate in industry events, seminars, and business development activities.
About You

You must be a registered Australian or New Zealand patent attorney with a degree qualification in electrical or electronics engineering, computer systems engineering, mechatronics engineering, information and communications technology (ICT), physics, quantum computing, software engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Have 1-3 years of post-registration experience as a Patent Attorney.
  • Have experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the above technical fields.
  • Have experience managing IP portfolios and developing IP strategies for Australian and international applicants.
  • Be client-focused with the ability to build strong professional relationships.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Have exceptional technical knowledge.
  • Have an eye for detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have advanced computer skills and database researching skills.
  • Be highly organised and responsible with experience prioritising and working to deadlines.
  • Have a positive attitude with a collaborative and innovative mindset.
