Melbourne, Victoria, Australia No To Violence Full time

About Us

No To Violence is a peak body for individuals and organisations working with men who use violence. We strive to end family violence by providing training, sector development, and advocacy across the sector.

We operate the Men's Referral Service, offering counselling and referral pathways directly to men who use violence. Our pro-feminist approach prioritises women and children at the centre of our work.

Our values include Change, Leadership, Gender Equity, and Accountability. They guide our efforts in improving services and fostering inclusive communities.

Job Description

This role involves collaborating with diverse community members outside Victoria who are passionate about domestic violence and inclusion. As a member of the Community Advisory Council, you will bring valuable perspectives to NTV's communication, planning, and quality improvement work.

You will engage with your community, ensuring meaningful input into NTV programs and organisational development. Regular bi-monthly meetings will be held to facilitate feedback and discussion on various topics.

The Advisory Council focuses on three key areas:

  1. Experience and Inclusion: Exploring how NTV engages with and works within diverse communities to achieve its mission. Advisors will support NTV in designing internal processes that meet changing community needs.
  2. Service Design and Delivery: Examining how NTV delivers its services. Community Advisors will work with NTV staff to understand the impact of services and support program design that meets consumer needs from diverse backgrounds.
  3. Community-led Topics: Community members identify topics or concerns they wish to discuss with relevant NTV staff. Advisors with shared lived experience or interest will listen to community voices and support NTV responses where possible.

An honorarium will be paid after each meeting attended, acknowledging expertise and covering time and expenses related to attending meetings.
