Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Event and Festivals Coordinator to join our team.

Job Description:
  • Provide administrative support for event planning, coordination and delivery.
  • Collaborate with the events team to develop and implement festivals and activations that meet community needs.
  • Contribute to the administration of Council-led events, including supplier and performer engagement, event logistics and post-event evaluation.
  • Enhance and promote the positive brand and reputation of the council as a successful host for community events and festivals.
  • Support the diverse range of events to meet community requirements.
  • Establish and maintain databases and mailing lists of relevant organisations and contacts.
  • Purchase goods and services for the department, including creating purchase orders and processing invoices for payment.
Key Requirements:
  • Knowledge of market research techniques and appropriate methods of analysis.
  • Relevant experience in planning, coordinating, marketing and promoting events/festivals and corporate functions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in computer applications and ability to create documents and databases.
  • Flexibility, forward thinking and ability to develop innovative programs and projects.
  • Ability to identify customer needs and expectations, decide the appropriate action and respond accordingly.
  • Highly developed communication skills with an ability to gain co-operation of, both verbally and in written form with a broad range of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated relevant experience in organising and conducting corporate and community events and functions.
  • Experience in or a good understanding of local government processes and community consultation.
  • Sound experience with occupational health and safety (including risk management procedures) relating to event coordination.
  • Demonstrated experience with computer applications.
