About the Role

There is a permanent opportunity with the Council's Festivals and Events team for a Festivals and Events Support Officer. You will work on Council's award-winning events program and support the community's events in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Current conditions allow hybrid working (work from home and office). Strong communication skills and a can-do attitude are highly regarded, with some weekend and evening work for events.

Reporting to the Coordinator Festivals and Events, the role will:

  • Provide administrative and project support for major Council-led and community festivals and events.
  • Respond to enquiries from internal and external partners and community and corporate event organisers.
  • Assist in festivals and events promotion including distribution of materials and social media.
  • Work with other teams across Council to help facilitate high quality events, activities and festivals.

The successful candidate will be asked to provide a clear Working with Children Check and consent to a national police check (and where relevant an international criminal history check), subject to spent conviction laws. Note that having a criminal record does not automatically bar you from applying; each application is considered on its merits.
