About this role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and technical individual to join our team as an Educational Events & Project Assistant. This dynamic role involves working in a team-based environment in both a technical and educational setting.
The key functions of the role include:
- Setting up events spaces, including equipment and student information;
- Sharing knowledge of Virtual Reality experiences and explaining how they work;
- Liaising with schools and career counsellors about event setup and delivery;
- Interpreting lesson plans that utilise virtual reality as a classroom tool;
- Presenting lesson content to students and/or teachers;
- Coordinating with the IT team to set up venues and ensure ongoing maintenance of activity consumables;
About you and your expertise:
To be successful in this role, you will be a naturally organised person who uses initiative and common sense to overcome challenges. Troubleshooting technical and non-technical problems is crucial, as is the ability to work well under pressure.
A confident presenter, you enjoy leading events and working with a team to deliver experiences. Ideal backgrounds for this role include experience working in VR events, coaching children's sports, youth work, or teaching/tutoring high school students.
Benefits:
This is a casual position initially, with potential to build up to a permanent role. Training will be provided, and a current working with children and police check will be required. A driver license and access to a car are desirable but not essential.
