Explosive Operations Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Explosive Operations Specialist to join our team at the Hope Downs mine site. This is a unique opportunity for individuals with a strong background in operating Mobile Processing Units (MPUs) in an open-cut mining environment.

About the Opportunity

This role involves working with a global leader in the production and delivery of industrial-grade ammonium nitrate and rock fragmentation services. The company has recently secured a new long-term contract to provide down the hole blasting services to Rio Tinto, creating a new team that will be deployed to the project in the next couple of months.

  • Safely Operating MPUs
  • Conducting Pre-Start Checks
  • Quality Control and Documentation
  • Collaborating with Blasting Teams
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Prior experience operating MPUs or similar equipment in an open-cut mining environment
  • Strong safety record and commitment to a zero-harm culture
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
  • A keen eye for detail and proactive approach to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
