Lead Climate Change and Sustainability Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced climate change and sustainability leader to join our team. The successful candidate will bring a combination of in-depth technical knowledge and well-developed human skills to drive and deliver sustainability and climate change outcomes.

The role involves leading strategic, complex, and high-profile projects that contribute to the delivery of key organisational goals. You will be required to develop, deliver, and review sustainability and climate change services, projects, strategies, and initiatives, as well as provide leadership and mentorship to an engaged team of professionals.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have significant experience in driving and delivering sustainability and climate change outcomes in a government or similar organisation. You should also have experience in managing and leading a team to deliver sustainability and climate change or related outcomes in a mid-sized to large organisation.

You will be responsible for ensuring that Council's sustainability and climate change functions are met and incorporate contemporary management and professional standards. This includes developing and implementing effective sustainability and climate change strategies, policies, and programs, as well as providing expert advice and guidance to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, deliver, and review sustainability and climate change services, projects, strategies, and initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to an engaged team of professionals.
  • Ensure Council's sustainability and climate change functions are met and incorporate contemporary management and professional standards.
