Job Opportunity

The Research Assistant will provide support to a study focused on the impact of metformin on cognitive, metabolic, and neuroimaging outcomes in older adults with mild cognitive impairment. The role involves participating in various aspects of the study protocol, including screening and recruitment, data collection, and entry.

The successful candidate will have experience conducting interviews with participants and assisting them with online questionnaires and assessments. They will also be responsible for entering data, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with general day-to-day tasks related to the study.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct structured participant assessments in a timely and accurate manner
  • Collaborate with nominated family members or friends of participants
  • Enrol participants and informants onto an online assessment platform
  • Guide participants through paper-based questionnaires and assessments

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychology or a related field, with demonstrated experience working with older adults and individuals with dementia. They will also possess excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong organisational and time management abilities.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Psychology (Honours 2.1 or higher) or equivalent level of knowledge
  • Experience conducting neuropsychological/cognitive assessments
  • Strong computer literacy skills, including MS Word and Excel
