Contribute to developing the right market settings to improve Australia's future productivity and living standards as an economist.
- Provide high-quality economic advice and recommendations through accurate analysis and reasoning in policy development and project decision-making.
- Apply analytical frameworks, build models, and conduct econometric analysis using advanced economic concepts to draw robust insights.
- Lead thought on current developments and emerging trends in the energy sector.
- Foster knowledge transfer and promote a better understanding of how economic concepts relate to the operation of the energy market.
- Communicate complex issues or concepts effectively to various stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in economics, commerce, and/or relevant disciplines.
- A background in microeconomics and/or econometrics would be beneficial.
- Minimum 2-5 years relevant work experience in a policy, research, and/or regulatory role involving economic concepts and analysis.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and build effective partnerships with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, including quantitative skills and the ability to quickly understand complex subject matters.
