Economist Job Opportunity

Contribute to developing the right market settings to improve Australia's future productivity and living standards as an economist.

  • Provide high-quality economic advice and recommendations through accurate analysis and reasoning in policy development and project decision-making.
  • Apply analytical frameworks, build models, and conduct econometric analysis using advanced economic concepts to draw robust insights.
  • Lead thought on current developments and emerging trends in the energy sector.
  • Foster knowledge transfer and promote a better understanding of how economic concepts relate to the operation of the energy market.
  • Communicate complex issues or concepts effectively to various stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in economics, commerce, and/or relevant disciplines.
  • A background in microeconomics and/or econometrics would be beneficial.
  • Minimum 2-5 years relevant work experience in a policy, research, and/or regulatory role involving economic concepts and analysis.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and build effective partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, including quantitative skills and the ability to quickly understand complex subject matters.
