Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our Legal, Governance & Regulatory function, you will play a crucial role in providing independent, commercially orientated legal advice and services to support the delivery of our business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience advising on major projects, with expertise in contract interpretation, drafting and dispute resolution. They will also possess advanced knowledge of major projects gained from law firm training, preferably coupled with in-house experience.

You will be responsible for delivering effective, timely, commercial and pragmatic legal advice in relation to Energy Projects, including joint venture / bidding agreements, general and ancillary commercial contracts, high level regulatory matters and management of legal risk.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Admitted to practice as a Legal Practitioner in Australia with a current practising certificate
  • Strong hands-on experience advising on major projects, with expertise in contract interpretation, drafting and dispute resolution
  • Advanced knowledge of major projects gained from law firm training, preferably coupled with in-house experience
  • Excellent technical skills to drive strategy and work as 'trusted advisor' to the business unsupervised
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, collaborative and able to work with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
