About the Role

SA Water is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the team responsible for the provision of expert capabilities and management frameworks in the areas of catchment, land, fire, and recreational access management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing programs and projects related to preserving the ecological and biodiversity assets across reservoir reserves and groundwater basins across the state.

This leadership role requires a depth of expertise in the fields of biodiversity conservation, ecology, water quality, and catchment management, as well as the ability to manage a variety of relationships to ensure successful collaboration and implementation of initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of SA Water's land, fire, catchment, and recreational frameworks to ensure sound management and high-quality outcomes are achieved across SA Water landholdings.
  • Lead the implementation of processes to manage opportunities and risks associated with recreational access, including monitoring, evaluation, compliance, and enforcement.
  • Support scientifically robust monitoring and evaluation activities associated with recreation, catchments, land, and fire management initiatives.
  • Implement revegetation, restoration, landscaping, and vegetation projects focused on demonstrating corporate environmental accountability and aligning with customer expectations.
  • Lead the implementation of strategic land management and landscaping sites to ensure they are meeting customer expectations and strategic outcomes over the long term.
  • Lead a high-performing, outcome-focussed team that effectively partners across the business to influence organisational performance and customer outcomes.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Science, Environmental Studies, Natural Resource Management, Park Management, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in project management, delivering exemplary outcomes with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of visitor management, catchment, and land management principles and practices, risk management, and scientific analytical approaches.
  • Leadership and people management skills.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing initiatives and frameworks to improve business performance and customer outcomes.
  • A current Australian driver's license.
