About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Technician to join our team at Carrapateena, a large-scale, world-class mine in South Australia. As a Geotechnical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our underground support systems, and will work closely with our geotechnical engineers to collect and analyze data to inform our mining operations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) of underground support systems, including inspecting and identifying non-compliance.
- Audit ground support installation to ensure compliance with site standards.
- Collect and analyze data from geotechnical monitoring systems, including lidar and Maptek iSight scanning.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of geotechnical monitoring systems.
- Perform basic geotechnical rock mass classification observations.
- Experience working in underground hard rock mines.
- Manual driving competence.
- Ability to work effectively within a mining cycle.
- Working at Heights compliant (or willing to do on-the-job training).
- Competence using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
