About Us

Children's Hospice South West is committed to providing care and support for children facing life-limiting conditions. As part of a close-knit team, you will assist the Manager in overseeing the shop's operations. This retail outlet plays a vital role in generating essential funds that contribute to enhancing the quality of life for these children.

Work Environment

This is a vibrant and well-established retail space where you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact within the local community. As a Retail Operations Assistant, you will engage in various aspects of shop management, collaborating closely with our friendly team of paid staff and volunteers. We prioritize our employees and provide an excellent working atmosphere with a motivated and dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include assisting customers, organizing and showcasing merchandise, managing cash transactions, and adhering to health and safety regulations. Volunteers are integral to our success, and you will have the opportunity to plan, prioritize, and delegate their tasks. You will support the manager in fostering a positive workplace culture and contribute to creating a pleasant working environment. Our shop operates seven days a week.

Ideal Candidate

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. You should be organized and capable of managing your time effectively. Previous experience in retail or customer service is required. You must be able to work collaboratively within a team and independently using your initiative.

Training Provided

Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided, covering shop opening and closing procedures, till operation, and stock presentation.
