Reliability Engineer

The Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement will drive significant growth across our industry and workforce, enabling the design and construction of vessels at our shipyard. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for Reliability, Availability & Maintainability (RAM) functions for a strategic shipbuilding project, managing engineering investigations to support RAM improvements of in-service assets while maintaining technical integrity and cost effectiveness.

  • Conduct reliability investigations to identify deficiencies in existing mission and support systems and/or to optimise asset reliability, availability, maintainability and safety.
  • Prepare and report on findings through the Engineering Investigation process.
  • Develop and maintain reliability engineering processes and procedures as required.
  • Maintain a consolidated RAM documentation suite on the Business Management System.
  • Perform modelling and analysis related to reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (e.g., FMECA, RCA and RCM).
  • Prepare FMECAR and Integrated Reliability, Maintainability, and Testability Program Report.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a landmark defence project, utilising your skills and experience to drive excellence in shipbuilding. You will be working with a diverse team to deliver high-quality outcomes, ensuring the success of the project.

Requirements
  • Baseline Security Clearance (Australian Citizen).
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in reliability engineering or lifecycle cost analysis.
  • Understanding of the Logistics Support Analysis process.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in Defence major/mission systems, preferably Land or Maritime Systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 55000 Asset Management.
  • Experience in Defence Contracting, including Requirements Traceability.
  • Experience or knowledge of document configuration management.
