**Job Description**

We are seeking a dedicated and culturally sensitive individual to join our team as a Cultural Connection Specialist. This rewarding role involves working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families, and communities to preserve cultural connections and support positive life outcomes.

The successful applicant will have:

  • a strong understanding of the historical and contemporary issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
  • flexibility to adapt and respond quickly in changing situations

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide individualized casework support, child protection intervention, and referrals to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their families
  • To work collaboratively with key stakeholders, including families and Recognised Entities, to establish and strengthen effective safety and support networks

Requirements

  • A Blue Card (Working with Children Clearance) is mandatory before commencing employment in this role
  • A current 'C' class driver's licence is essential for travel requirements
