Lead Perioperative Nurse

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled perioperative nurse to lead our anaesthetics and recovery team. As a pivotal leader, you will maintain high clinical standards, drive staff performance, manage resources effectively, and achieve positive patient outcomes within the perioperative environment.

You will collaborate with the assistant director of clinical services and foster a culture of service excellence. Your role will involve providing clinical and operational leadership, overseeing daily operations, ensuring effective clinical governance, and contributing to staff education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and operational leadership to the anaesthetics and recovery teams
  • Oversee daily operations including staffing, rostering, and resource allocation
  • Ensure effective clinical governance and champion continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to staff education through orientation, graduate support, and in-service training

About You:

You are an experienced perioperative nurse with strong clinical expertise and a passion for leadership. You may already hold management experience or be ready to step into a senior leadership role and make your mark in a supportive and forward-thinking team.

Essential Criteria

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 5 years' postgraduate experience in an acute care environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in anaesthetics and/or recovery nursing
  • Proven ability to supervise, lead, and motivate staff

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant specialty or leadership/management
  • Previous leadership experience within a perioperative environment
  • Membership of a relevant professional organisation
