Heavy Haul Signalling Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and technically capable project engineer to support the delivery of minor rail signalling improvement projects under a shared delivery model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide on-site engineering support for signalling infrastructure upgrades and renewals within heavy haul rail networks
  • Coordinate with contractors, OEMs, and project stakeholders to ensure compliance with technical specifications
  • Conduct on-site inspections, quality checks, and verification activities throughout construction
  • Prepare and review inspection test plans (ITPs), inspection reports, and quality documentation
  • Interpret and validate signalling designs for constructability and technical compliance
  • Support signals project managers in planning, execution, and project close-out activities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, civil engineering, or a related discipline
  • 3-5 years' experience in rail signalling project delivery, preferably within heavy haul or freight rail environments
  • Strong site-based experience with installation, testing, and commissioning of rail signalling systems
  • Proven ability to review technical documentation, prepare ITPs, and manage quality assurance processes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Familiarity with Australian rail signalling standards
