Role Summary

The Clinical Education Fellow plays a key role in supporting the clinical teaching and learning activities for second, third and fourth year Macquarie Medical School students undertaking their clinical placements in Medicine/Surgery at the Northern Beaches Hospital.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience in coordinating or delivering clinical teaching and learning, including clinical supervision of medical students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the provision of clinical experiences in Surgery for second, third and fourth year medical students at the Northern Beaches Clinical School.
  • Implement the assessment framework at the Northern Beaches Clinical School.
  • Review clinical experiences and clinical teaching periodically.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students on placement at the Northern Beaches Clinical School.
  • Develop junior medical staff involved in clinical teaching and learning, clinical supervision and assessments.
  • Support students and supervisors undertaking Macquarie MD research projects at the Northern Beaches Hospital, where required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Hold a MBBS or equivalent degree and be currently registered or eligible for registration with AHPRA.
  • Have completed Fellowship of a Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or other specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.
  • Demonstrate ability and experience in coordinating or delivering clinical teaching and learning, including clinical supervision of medical students.
