Clinical Mental Health Nursing Educator

Mental health professionals are in high demand. As a clinical nurse educator, you will play a vital part in shaping the future of patient care and services.
The role requires educating and training staff on mental health practices, developing educational resources, and contributing to the growth and development of mental health services.
As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with others to deliver high-quality patient care and support the delivery of mental health services across the region.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement educational programs for mental health professionals, focusing on best practices and evidence-based treatments.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement policies and procedures related to mental health services.
- Conduct needs assessments and gap analyses to identify areas for improvement in mental health services and develop strategies to address these gaps.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to mental health professionals, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in mental health, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes and services.
- Current Authority to Practice as a registered nurse with a relevant regulatory agency.
- Holds a relevant clinical or educational post-registration qualification or 3 years of clinical experience in mental health nursing and education.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of teaching and facilitation in adult learning principles within the healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated clinical teaching and facilitation skills, in individuals or group settings, using established frameworks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of competency attainment and assessment processes.
- Computer literacy including planning documents, reporting schedules, and Excel; knowledge of Microsoft Teams and Word; ability to retrieve data from systems to inform educational resource development.
- Clean and current driving license and the ability to travel as required by the role.
