Job Title: Accounts Assistant

We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team at Valiant Finance. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage data entry of revenue items earned at the end of the month, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Collect and reconcile expense payments incurred on company cards, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Invoice lender partners and assist with cash collections, ensuring seamless financial transactions.
  • Provide support to internal stakeholders on Accounts-related issues and queries, offering expert guidance and assistance.
  • Assist with approving and processing accounts payables, ensuring timely payment and maintaining good relationships with suppliers.
  • Produce performance reports using Excel and PowerPoint, providing valuable insights into our financial performance.
  • Forward settlement reports to external partners and request payment invoices, ensuring prompt and accurate communication.
  • Administer and analyze data to ensure compliance with contracts and financial policies, maintaining a high level of regulatory compliance.
  • Support company administration, including data entry and analysis for onboarding, members of the Pride, and offboarding, ensuring a smooth transition for new and departing employees.
  • Assist with ad-hoc analytics projects, providing expert analysis and insights to inform business decisions.
Requirements:
  • Extreme attention to detail and accountability for tasks, with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Proven accounting or bookkeeping experience, ideally in a similar role, with a strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
  • Experience working in a technology or fintech environment, desired but not essential, with a strong understanding of financial software and systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines, with a strong focus on prioritization and time management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to interpret data and provide expert insights.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, with a strong focus on Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional familiarity and skill using Microsoft Excel, with a strong ability to build and operate large spreadsheets, trace formula cells, and identify variances.
  • Experience working with Xero, with a strong understanding of financial software and systems.
  • Confidence in ability to regularly follow-up with Valiant Finance staff and partners, to obtain desired information and outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Preferred academic qualifications: Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Finance, Bookkeeping, Accounting, desired but not essential.
