Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Cairns, Australia
About the RoleA leading organisation is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance activities across its fleet.
The objective is to maintain vessels in top condition and ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and operational requirements.
Main Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and execute maintenance and project work plans to ensure safe delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Monitor and report on project progress, schedule adherence, and financial performance to support contracted work delivery.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards through inspections, approvals, and ISO-compliant procedures.
- Support business managers in coordinating resources and contractors to meet project needs.
- Communicate goals, expectations, and updates effectively to project teams and stakeholders.
- Prioritise and schedule maintenance and project activities for efficient execution.
- Emphasise and enforce environmental and safety practices in all work areas.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Line Manager or Program Manager.
- Strong understanding of safety practices, including confined spaces, working at heights, energized systems, isolations, risk assessments, permits, and Job Safety and Environment Analysis (JSEA).
- Ability to plan, organise, and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, including contractor management.
- Effective dispute resolution and negotiation skills to achieve positive outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate and present clear reports.
- Knowledge of defence statutory compliance and relevant regulations.
- Experience in project supervision, planning, and scheduling within the marine or maintenance industry.
- Proficiency in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Experience in preparing quotes and estimates.
