Unlock Meaningful Employment Opportunities

We are seeking experienced professionals to fill the role of Mental Health Employment Specialist. As a Mental Health Employment Specialist, you will work closely with individuals living with mental health conditions to provide tailored support and empower them to achieve their employment goals.

This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of others. You will be working within an evidence-based service that prioritizes participant-centered care and strives to create inclusive communities where everyone can thrive.

  • You will deliver services using the Individual Placement & Support (IPS) Model — a highly effective approach to employment for people with mental illness.
  • Support participants through every step of their journey: vocational profiling, job search, resume and interview preparation, placement, post-placement support, and ongoing support.
  • Strive to exceed individual and team performance targets, delivering sustainable employment outcomes and contributing to the overall success of the service.
  • Build strong partnerships with local employers to create inclusive job opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with NDIS and community providers, ensuring wrap-around supports for participants' wellbeing.
  • Monitor outcomes, keep accurate records, and contribute to continuous improvement in service delivery.

About the Role

  • A relevant Certificate III or higher qualification (Employment Services, Community Services, Mental Health, or related field).
  • Experience in employment services, mental health support, or disability services.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with participants, their supports, and employers.
  • Business development skills and local employer connections.
  • Current driver's license and your own vehicle.
  • Ability to obtain all required clearances (NDIS, Working with Children, Police Check).

What We Offer

  • Specialist IPS training and access to evidence-based practices.
  • Collaboration with multi-disciplinary professionals including Psychologists, Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners, OTs, Speech Pathologists, Dieticians, and Rehabilitation Consultants.
  • Employee wellbeing initiatives: monthly in-office massages, team-building events, ergonomic assessments, and workplace adjustments.
  • Flexible work options, paid parental leave, and tailored return-to-work support.
  • An additional week of annual leave after three years of service.
  • Clear career pathways into leadership or specialist roles across NDIS, Inclusive Employment, and Workplace Rehabilitation.

Our Commitment to Inclusion

We strongly encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and communities. Our goal is to create a work environment that values diversity and promotes inclusivity.
