About the Role

This position involves accurately translating narrative descriptions into valid ICD-10-AM codes, ensuring data specificity and collaborating with clinical staff to meet ICD-10-AM code requirements.

  • Translation of diagnoses and procedures into accurate and complete ICD-10-AM codes.
  • Supporting clinical staff to ensure diagnoses and procedure descriptions align with ICD-10-AM code specifications.
  • Liaison with colleagues on queries or problems regarding ICD-10-AM convention interpretations.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • At least 12 months experience in Clinical Coding using ICD-10-AM Classification system in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian and South Australian Coding Standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
